Noble of Steadfast is the kind of Highland bull that checks all the boxes, structurally correct, functional, balanced, and built with the kind of natural traits that stand the test of time.

From the ground up, Noble is exceptionally sound. He stands on excellent feet and legs with ideal hoof shape, proper flexibility through the hocks, and correct hip and shoulder angles that allow him to move freely and naturally. Structural correctness is always our priority, and Noble excels in the areas we believe matter most for longevity, durability, and real-world functionality.

He is an attractive medium-framed bull with tremendous depth, width, and body volume. His smoothness and overall balance are what immediately stand out in person. He carries a level, wide topline with a clean, natural flow from front to back that gives him an exceptionally complete look. Deep-bodied, wide-based, and naturally easy fleshing, Noble maintains condition efficiently and passes along the kind of practical traits that thrive in forage-based programs.

Noble’s hair coat is exceptional, especially for a young two-year-old bull. He carries long, soft, flowing hair with a naturally clean and refined appearance that gives him an eye-catching presence year-round. His silver color only adds to his appeal. Silver Highlands remain one of the breed’s most striking and sought-after colors, while also pairing beautifully across a wide range of cattle to produce tremendous calf color variety. While we never prioritize color over quality, Noble offers both in one package, elite phenotype combined with one of the breed’s most attractive colors.

Temperament is another area where Noble stands out. From an early age, he was naturally calm, intelligent, and extremely easy to work with, one of the easiest we have ever halter trained. He carries a laid-back, people-friendly disposition while still maintaining the alertness, instinct, and natural intelligence that make Highlands so functional in real-world environments. Combined with strong natural breeding instinct and libido, Noble offers the kind of practical, functional traits we believe are important to preserve in the breed.

One of the most underrated qualities a bull can offer is the maternal strength he passes on to his daughters. While phenotype and performance often draw the most attention, the long-term success of any breeding program is ultimately built on productive, functional females. Noble carries the kind of maternal genetics that give confidence not only in the calves he sires today, but in the kind of productive females that shape future generations.

His dam, Honey Creek Shawna, is a tremendous example of those genetics in action. At 15 years old, she recently had her 13th calf and continues to maintain the soundness, femininity, and youthful appearance of most cows half her age. With excellent feet and legs, a beautiful udder, strong maternal instinct, exceptional hair quality, and proven longevity, Shawna represents the kind of functional, durable Highland female that leaves a lasting impact on a program. Combined with the growth, depth, and performance found in his sire, Gray Owl’s Borg, Noble brings together a pedigree built on practical traits that matter: longevity, maternal strength, structural correctness, and functional efficiency. It’s no surprise that his impressive pedigree carries the kind of genetics that perform well in both the show ring and the sale ring, while still maintaining the practical, functional traits that matter most in real-world cattle.

Noble of Steadfast represents the kind of Highland genetics that continue moving the breed forward: structurally sound, maternally backed, forage efficient, instinctively functional, and visually impressive without sacrificing practicality.
